ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE
Teaching
Joined the Finance Faculty at the Indian Institute of Management – Bangalore (IIMB) in 2003, teaching core ‘Corporate Finance’ course and elective courses ‘Banking,
Financial Markets and Systems’ and ‘International Finance’ in the MBA Program. Post superannuation in 2019, continuing in IIM-Bangalore till date as a visiting faculty,
teaching in the MBA and the Advanced Management Programs.

• IIMBx, the digital learning platform of IIM-Bangalore and
• the SWAYAM Platform of the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India.
Over fifty thousand students from over a hundred countries have registered and gone through the above courses since I first offered them in 2016.

Fifteen years with multi-national and private sector banks in India and abroad, across several functions including retail banking, treasury, credit, operations,
financial planning, information technology, etc.

Consulting
• Travelled to over 40 countries and undertaken consulting and project engagements in 20+ countries.
• Member of the UIDAI Advisory Group that architected the ‘AADHAR’ project, including the ‘Direct Funds Transfer’ and related financial inclusion initiatives.
• Worked closely with Infosys to build a comprehensive state-of-the-art Core Banking Software (‘Finacle’) to suit the needs of banks, both national and international.
• Participated actively in the initiatives of the Reserve Bank of India to build the technology infrastructure for RTGS, NEFT, inter-bank ATM connectivity, etc.
which has delivered significant benefits to corporate and retail customers in the country.
• Undertook consulting engagements with large public sector banks in India, banks in the Asia Pacific region as well as manufacturing companies in a variety of
areas including (a) investment analysis, (b) risk management, (c) cost of capital, (d) technology strategy and deployment, (e) business process reengineering.
