Dr. Lopamudra Goswami
Visiting faculty
Background: Dr. Lopamudra is a Spain-based mental health professional, researcher and academician with a robust background spanning field research, academic pursuits, corporate consulting, private practice and publication. Her professional journey has evolved into a passionate commitment to advancing women's reproductive health and well-being, particularly in the global south. With a Ph.D. from Griffith University, Australia from the School of Health Sciences and Social Work, my dissertation focused on the well-being of surrogate mothers from marginalised communities. These women, grappling with dire poverty, became the focal point of my research as I delved into their post-relinquishment experiences. As a burgeoning authority in women's reproductive health, my dedication extends beyond research to advocacy. I am driven to ensure that the voices of these marginalised women from abject poverty conditions resonate not only in academic circles but also influence policies directly affecting their lives. Rooted in a passion for social justice, equity and human rights, I am determined to effect tangible change for those often overlooked Courses Taught at MSB: • Basic Career Success Modules • Advanced Career Success Modules • Business Communication Education: • Doctor of Philosophy (School of Health Sciences and Social Work), Griffith University, Queensland, Australia (2024) • Visiting Scholar, University of Cambridge, England (2019) • Master of Philosophy (Psychology), Christ University, Bangalore, India (2012) • Master of Science (Psychology), Sampurna Montfort College, Bangalore University, India (2009) • Bachelor of Arts (Psychology- Honors), Indraprastha College for Women, University of Delhi, India (2007) Academic Experience: • Sept ’24 – Present, Academic Consultant for MYRA (Mysore Royal Academy) School of Business, India working on a hybrid module to equip post-graduate students with skills to help navigate the challenges of work-place environment in the form of a tailored career success program • Jun ’24 – Sept ’24, Consultant for CARE International, South Sudan working on supporting a qualitative research and advocacy project on exploring the views and lived experiences of women and adolescent girls who are refugees and returnees concerning the conflict in Sudan and displacement in South Sudan • Sept ’23 – Dec ’23, UNICEF, South Sudan and University of Juba, sub-contractor working on curriculum development of social work certificate program and coursework upgradation of social work diploma and undergraduate programs • May ’23 – Present, Women’s Committee Board Member, Allies in Colour, Australia for advancing CARM Australian representation • Mar ’23 – Jul ’23, Academic Tutor for 2004PSY Workplace Psychology at Griffith University, School of Applied Psychology, Australia • Mar ’22 – Present, Academic Tutor/Student Support Unit at Griffith University in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Tutorial Assistance Program (ATSITAP), Australia • Jul ’22 – Oct ’22, Academic Tutor and Assessor for 2008PSY Social and Cultural Psychology at Griffith University, School of Applied Psychology, Australia • Jun ’22 – Jul ’22, Assessor for 1008HSV Interpersonal Skill at Griffith University, School of Health Sciences and Social Work, Australia • Feb ’21 – Oct ’21, Steering Committee Member informing the development of procedures and guidelines to help operationalise Griffith University’s Open Research Statement, Australia • Apr ’18 – Sept ’23, Research fellow at Griffith University pursuing a Doctoral Research project, managing and conducting research in India.
