Dr. Shrijay Devaraj Urs is one of the founders of Mysore Royal Academy and MYRA School of Business. He brings 40 years of diverse work experience across academia and academic administration.
Dr. Urs began his academic career in the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Mysore in 1976 and became a full professor at a relatively young age of 40 years in 1993.
He is a development economist and his area of specialization is Agriculture and Food Marketing. He has served as a consultant to UNDP and FAO during the early 1990s. He also served as a visiting faculty at the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok during 1989-90.
Having being closely associated with NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) since 1980s, he has 3 decades of experience in the process of Academic Assessment and Accreditation.
Dr. Urs began his academic administration career also in the University of Mysore quite early in his career — served as the Director of Academic Staff College during 1996-98; served as Director, Planning Monitoring and Evaluation Board (PMEB) of the University of Mysore during 2003-2008; Registrar (Evaluation) from 2012 to 2015.
He has authored couple of books and more than fifty articles.
He has a Ph.D (Agriculture Marketing Management); M.R.P. (Master in Regional Planning) from University of Mysore; M.A. in Economics from Bangalore University; PG Diploma in CRRDP (ISRAEL) and AITP. His research experience spans 4 decades.
